A study visit was held to the demonstration site of the UNECE-supported project “Benefits of Nature-Based Solutions in Kyrgyzstan” in Syn-Tash village.
A study visit was conducted to the demonstration site of the UNECE-supported project “Benefits of Nature-Based Solutions in Kyrgyzstan”, located in the village of Syn-Tash, Issyk-Ata District, Chui Region.
The demonstration site was visited by Tamara Kutonova, Programme Manager for the National Policy Dialogues on Water at the Secretariat of the UNECE Water Convention, and Nargiza Osmonova, National Coordinator of the IKI Nexus Project in the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the visit, the participants learned about the practical implementation of nature-based solutions aimed at enhancing water security, adapting to climate change, and promoting the sustainable management of natural resources. Particular attention was given to the demonstration of an artificial glacier as an innovative approach to water storage and supply, as well as to the application of agroforestry practices.
