The Asyl Zher-Tokoi Microcredit Agency was established by the Kyrgyz Association of Forest and Land Users (KAFLU) to provide affordable financing to family farmers, rural entrepreneurs, women, youth and vulnerable rural households.
The agency was registered by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic in October 2025 and is an independent legal entity able to continue operating after the project ends. Its initial loan capital was formed under the DMSOP project, financed by GAFSP through the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Repaid funds are used to issue new loans.
Our borrower is a family farmer or small rural entrepreneur. They have experience, land and a clear idea. The only thing missing is affordable money to take the next step.
Asyl Zher-Tokoi MCA is not a temporary project structure. After DMSOP ends, the agency will continue operating as an independent microcredit organisation supervised by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The agency’s sustainability is ensured by:
In this way, the initial project funding becomes a long-term revolving financial mechanism able to support several generations of rural borrowers.
Every som invested in the MCA’s loan capital works more than once: once repaid, it is lent again to the next farmer.
Our goal is a sustainable national mechanism for direct, affordable financing of Kyrgyzstan’s family farmers — one that keeps working regardless of any single project’s timeline.
