In the village of Syn-Tash, Chuy region, with UNECE support, a water-supply system is being laid from an artificial glacier to a future walnut plantation.
With the support of UNECE, under the project «Benefits of Nature-based Solutions in Kyrgyzstan», work is underway at a pilot site in the village of Syn-Tash (Chuy region) to install a water-supply system running from an artificial glacier to the plot where a walnut plantation is planned. The solution aims to make efficient use of water resources under conditions of scarcity.
Over time, the system will provide a stable source of water for the planned plantations, making it possible to increase yields and strengthen the resilience of local farms.
The project clearly demonstrates how nature-based solutions help adapt to climate change and offer practical, sustainable responses to today’s environmental challenges.
