Lake Issyk-Kul, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan, served as the final venue for the 2026 Global Summer School for Young Pastoralists, bringing together participants to reflect on an intense week of learning, sharing experiences, and working together.
Following field trips to the Suusamyr and Son-Kul pastures, participants gathered on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul to discuss the results of their practical sessions, exchange knowledge and experiences, and finalize the Youth Declaration. Particular attention was paid to developing a shared vision of the role of youth in sustainable pasture management and natural resource conservation.
The Summer School became an important international platform, bringing together young pastoralists, experts, and partners from across the globe to share experiences, strengthen cooperation, and train a new generation of leaders capable of contributing to sustainable pasture management, conservation of natural ecosystems, and rural development.
