From September 28 to October 2, 2026, the “Forest Sector Development” professional development programme was held in Kyrgyzstan in the form of an internship.

The programme was jointly organized by the Institute for Advanced Training of Forestry Workers (FAU DPO IPKLKh, Russian Federation), the Forest Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Kyrgyz Association of Forest and Land Users (KAFLU).

Participants exchanged experience in forest management, forest policy, reforestation and afforestation, forest inventory and planning, digitalization and forest protection. Special attention was paid to developing human resources in the forest sector and to modern approaches to organizing forestry.

An important part of the internship were field trips to the Issyk-Kul and Chuy forestry enterprises, where participants learned about the practical side of forestry work in Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, experts of the Institute held training sessions on forest management, forest use, prevention and suppression of wildfires, felling of forest stands, reforestation and forest sanitary safety.

The programme became an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience and stronger cooperation between forest sector specialists from Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

At the end of the internship, participants passed interim and final assessments and received documents confirming completion of the training.
