From 4 to 8 August 2026, in cooperation with ARIS, the analytical phase of the project on certification of sustainable forest management and organic products was carried out.
From 4 to 8 August 2026, as part of the cooperation with ARIS under the consultancy services “Conducting certification of the Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) system (including non-timber forest products), as well as certification of organic products in accordance with international standards,” the analytical phase of the project was carried out.
The expert team held meetings with key stakeholders in the Jalal-Abad and Osh regions, including representatives of district state administrations, pilot forestry enterprises, the Kara-Shoro State Nature Park, the Institute of Walnut Growing and Forest Ecosystems, and the Jalal-Abad Regional Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meetings, the team assessed the current status of the forest management system and the use of non-timber forest products (NTFPs), and made a preliminary evaluation of the readiness of the pilot forestry enterprises for forest management certification and of enterprises for organic certification. Particular attention was paid to the sustainable use of forest resources, existing value chains, product traceability systems, and the needs of stakeholders.
The results obtained will serve as the basis for preparing the analytical report, developing recommendations, and implementing the next phases of the project to prepare pilot forestry enterprises and businesses for international certification.
